Blue Dame
"Oh my god," Signe sighs and looks dejectedly at the green flower tiled table in her living room.
Sure, she's into nostalgia, but now she is not so sure that she's into Henrik's nostalgia.
Henrik's grandmother always made sure that there were sweets in a glass bowl on the coffee table. But the charm of nostalgia only goes so far and Signe had not, in her wildest dreams, imagined that it was THIS ugly.

The process
I got a feeling of film noir in this demo sketch by Rasmus Balstrøm. A bit of mystery and elegance and the strong contrast. To support my feeling I decided to work with black and brass pipes with blue details. I had considered a colour for the frame, but found that the beauty of the natural oak gave exactly the contrast that defined the picture for me. To increase the contrast of the wood against the sheen of the table I have chosen a lower gloss treatment of the wood. The OSMO hard wax oil that I use is approved for children's toys, so there is no need to worry if your child decides to do a taste test.
DEMO
SKETCHES

I told my friend, Rasmus Balstrøm, about this idea of making graffiti tables. To support me in my idea, Rasmus did some quick demo sketches for me to work with. I am very appreciative that he squeezed in the time in his packed schedule. Rasmus' quick demo sketches have been very inspiring to my creative process!
Thank you for your support Rasmus!
